EMEA Recruitment has been engaged to recruit on behalf of a global leader in its industry, which operate across five continents. We are seeking an experienced Group Treasurer who can lead strategic global Treasury activities during a critical transition.

The company will offer the chance to design and build a new global Treasury function and play a significant role in a highly important transaction for the business. The role also offers the opportunity to influence the capital structure of the new organization.

This role will be based in Basel and will initially require a daily onsite presence while the function is established, with the potential to offer flexibility in the future.

The role will work closely with the CFO, so knowledge and experience beyond Treasury would also be beneficial.

As the organization is currently going through some changes, the role will be suited to someone who is straight to the point and gets the job done effectively. You will also manage the relationship with the external partner, who the daily Treasury work will be outsourced to.

The role will be suited to someone who has extensive experience in Treasury, ideally with building out a function from scratch that can stand alone from day one.

The main duties of the Group Treasurer are:

• Lead internal and external Finance strategy, managing debt and bank loan portfolios
• Have oversight of short-term investments, cash management, and liquidity planning
• Design the capital structure of the new organization and negotiate financing arrangements
• Be the interface between banks, debt investors, auditors, and rating agencies
• Implement Treasury processes, operating models, governance, and controls to ensure readiness from day one
• Ensure the company is protected against market volatility by overseeing FX risk management

Required skills for the Group Treasurer role:

• Substantial experience in corporate Treasury, banking, or debt capital markets
• Previous experience with Treasury governance, loan syndication, and debt distribution
• Excellent knowledge liquidity management, FX, interest rate risk, and capital markets
• Ability to manage relationships with senior stakeholders both internally and externally
• Capable of delivering messages in a concise manner to maximize impact
• A relevant qualification
• English language skills to a professional level
