Job Description Summary:
As Head of Media and Digital Communications, you are responsible for leading the global media relations and digital communications strategy to enhance Sandoz visibility, credibility, and engagement across traditional and digital platforms. You will drive integrated media and digital campaigns that support corporate priorities, build strong relationships with key media, and ensure a compelling and consistent digital presence aligned with the company’s brand and reputation goals.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Media Relations:
Develop and execute a proactive global media strategy to position the company as a leader in affordable healthcare.
Cultivate strong relationships with top-tier media, trade publications, and key journalists across key markets.
Manage media inquiries, interviews, press releases, and proactive media events in coordination with senior leadership.
Manage the media and digital communications during our financial quarterly results.
Digital Communications:
Lead the strategy and execution of all key digital channels including corporate website, social media, and digital campaigns.
Ensure consistent, engaging, and brand-aligned content across all digital platforms.
Monitor digital trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and relevance.
Integrated Campaigns:
Design and implement integrated media and digital campaigns that support product launches, corporate initiatives, and thought leadership.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Public Affairs, P&O) to align messaging and maximize impact.
Issues & Crisis Management:
Support media and digital response strategies during issues and crises, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
Monitor media and digital sentiment to identify and mitigate reputational risks.
Measurement & Optimization:
Define KPIs and performance metrics for media and digital activities.
Use analytics and insights to optimize strategies and demonstrate impact.
What you’ll bring to the role:
Essential Requirements:
Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field
Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus
15+ years in media relations and digital communications, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector
Proven experience managing global media strategies and digital platforms
Strong track record in leading integrated campaigns and managing high-stakes media situations
Excellent media relations and storytelling skills
Deep understanding of digital platforms, content strategy, and analytics
Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration abilities
Crisis communication and reputation management expertise
Data-driven mindset with experience in media and digital performance measurement
High level of business acumen and stakeholder management
