The Position

As a Media Spokesperson for the Roche Group, you will join a dynamic team dedicated to shaping the global narrative of a leading healthcare company. You will work at the intersection of strategy and reputation, ensuring our message is clear, impactful, and aligned with our corporate values across international markets.

In this temporary position being opened to offer maternity leave cover for our incumbent, you will serve as a primary voice for Roche, managing high-stakes communications and building vital relationships with the global press. You will play a pivotal part in protecting and enhancing our corporate reputation while supporting our senior leadership in their media engagements.

The Opportunity

To excel in this position, you will take on a diverse range of responsibilities aimed at elevating Roche’s media presence:

• Serve as the official media spokesperson for the Roche Group to represent the organization to external stakeholders.

• Proactively shape the media narrative on key strategic, business, and reputational priority topics in collaboration with global communication teams.

• Coordinate news flow and strategic planning across various internal communication departments.

• Manage issues proactively by networking with content owners and utilizing media monitoring for early detection and timely response.

• Provide comprehensive media support, including briefings and media training, for Corporate Executive Committee members and subject matter specialists.

• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key journalists across international, Swiss, financial, and business media.

• Install and configure communication strategies per guidelines while assisting with the evolution of our digital and social media presence.

Who You Are

We are looking for a strategic communicator who thrives in fast-paced environments and possesses the following qualifications:

• A University degree in science, economics, or PR/Communications, paired with a minimum of seven years of professional experience in Corporate Communications or Media Relations within a multinational setting.

• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to influence and work effectively with senior management.

• An excellent team player with high integrity, strong listening skills, and the ability to build trust across diverse teams.

• The resilience to work effectively in a high-pressure environment while managing complex, sensitive topics.

• Proficient written and verbal communication skills in both German and English; additional experience in social media or the healthcare industry is a plus.
