The Position
Join us as a Pharmaceutical Development Intern in Basel and become part of a team that is passionate about creating innovative, patient-focused parenteral drug products. During this 6- to 12-month internship, you will gain valuable hands-on experience in the development of formulations, sterile manufacturing processes, and technology transfer. The Opportunity
As a Pharmaceutical Development Intern, you will actively contribute to project work from the very beginning, focusing on testing the clinical applicability and stability of our drug products. Your responsibilities and learning opportunities include:
Plan and perform clinical compatibility studies in the Centralized In-Use Laboratory to ensure the safe and effective use of drug products in clinical practice.
Carry out physico-chemical analyses of non-manufacturing-grade samples, including complex chromatographic methods such as size-exclusion chromatography and ion-exchange chromatography.
Ensure the integrity of data and take full ownership of comprehensive documentation for all studies in compliance with internal quality standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to contribute innovative solutions in the development of parenteral drug products.
Assist in the preparation and optimization of drug formulations and sterile manufacturing processes.
Gain practical experience in technology transfer activities to production facilities, ensuring the smooth transition from development to manufacturing.
Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to contribute to the improvement and optimization of experimental procedures and processes.

Who You Are
You are an enthusiastic and driven individual who is eager to grow and contribute to groundbreaking pharmaceutical development. The ideal applicant possesses the following:
Academic Excellence: You have successfully completed the second stage of the pharmaceutical examination (second state exam) or hold a bachelor's degree in pharmaceutical sciences. You are ready to complete part of your practical year or your industrial internship in a leading pharmaceutical environment.
Pharmaceutical Expertise: You have a strong interest in the development and analysis of parenteral dosage forms and ideally some initial theoretical or practical experience in this field.
Analytical Competence: You have a solid theoretical understanding of the physico-chemical characterization of protein formulations, including techniques such as visual inspection, particle analysis, testing for pH and osmolality, and chromatographic methods.
Personal Strengths: You bring self-reliance, solution-oriented thinking, and excellent communication and teamwork skills to thrive in a collaborative and international team setting.
Language Skills: You are fluent in written and spoken English, with German language skills being an advantage.
Planned start date: Flexible, effective immediately or in 2026.
Duration: 6 - 12 months
