This 12-months internship is a unique opportunity to develop practical application of skills learned in academia in a broad new field.
Global Capital Investment is responsible for providing an efficient, effective and sustainable working environment for over 30,000 employees of Roche Diagnostics globally. This is done in a multitude of ways, from designing best in class office layouts, to constructing sustainable and fit for purpose manufacturing facilities, controlling and approval of capital expenditure across the division. The multi-disciplinary team offers the perfect environment for a motivated intern to apply transferable skills in a dynamic setting where we set the governance process for capital investment projects and continuous improvement initiatives to ultimately benefit these projects.
The opportunity
We are looking for a motivated, engaged, mature, self-starting individual, keen to grow and prove capability to take on additional tasks beyond the core responsibilities outlined below.
Within the context of the Project Management and Project Controls area within Capital Investment Projects within the Diagnostics industry (e.g. laboratories, pharmaceutical production, medical devices assembly, offices, infrastructure, etc…), you will work on the following tasks, with guidance and support from mentors and buddies:
Project reviews
Support in the preparation of stage-gate design reviews of projects
Analyze review results, build up and maintain database with these
Visualize results, propose and implement automated reporting processes
Project execution governance
Support with updates of several guidelines for project management and execution
Support on global roll out and training of the above mentioned guidelines
Communities of Practice
Work with the Communities (e.g. Project Controls, Contract and Partner Management) to organize the communities and foster collaboration, engagement and exchange amongst them
Data analytics and programming
Develop and identify of required data architecture
Development of dashboarding for capital investment portfolio management (power BI, Tableau)
Intermediary role between Business and IT
Working knowledge of Appscript or similar
Database maintenance
Ensure submission of forms with project data
Understanding of how datalakes work and how to link these to Tableau and/or PowerBi dashboards
Administrative support
Presentation preparation
Plan, organize, and coordinate events and meetings
As an intern and part of the Capital Investment team, you will have exposure to real-world Capital Investment projects as well as real cases for Project Management & Controls, Contract Strategy and Capability building for a global, diverse remote audience in these.
You will be in a safe learning environment where you can bring in your own creative ideas, which will be much appreciated.

Who you are

You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor or Master‘s degree OR graduated within the last 12 months prior to the start date related to project management, architecture, facility management, real estate or related fields or equivalent education.
You have experience with project management, operational FM or RE
You are self-motivated, pro-active and confident individual with an enthusiastic can do attitude who is committed to driving change
Experience in agile working environment is a plus
Proficiency in MS Office as well as Google Suite
Proficiency in English (spoken & written) is a requirement. German highly desirable
