The Opportunity
As a Project Team Leader (PTL) in Cardiovascular, Metabolism and Immunology (CMI) in pRED, you will act as the project leader for one or more immunology asset teams, assuming full accountability for the development of drug candidates through to pivotal studies. You will lead the team in developing and executing on an asset strategy that delivers on portfolio strategic priorities and maximises value for patients. For the teams you lead, you will:
Embed the principles and ways of working for a high performing asset team
Lead the team to develop and implement an innovative asset strategy with appropriate data driven stage-gates, de-risking approaches and mitigation strategies
Lead co-development projects, balancing the needs of Roche and partners in collaborations
Communicate critical data and project team recommendations and decisions to key governance committees and drive stage-gate milestones and budget requests
Serve as the interface between CMI in pRED and partner functions on project-related issues
Actively engaging with other PTLs and the CMI leadership team to drive portfolio strategy and trade-off decisions
Who you are
You have led matrix research or development project teams in a complex and fast-paced organization. You have clear and effective communication skills, a deep knowledge of strategic drug development and experience in clinical development. You have demonstrated the ability to influence and align with a diversity of stakeholders in a large organisation and have a track record of shaping decisions without formal authority.
You hold a PhD, MD, PharmD, or equivalent experience.
You have at least 8 years in the pharmaceutical industry with broad cross-functional experience.
You have spent at least 5 of these years in pre-clinical and/or clinical development roles, with pre-clinical and/or early clinical development experience preferred.
You have extensive matrix leadership or line leadership experience.
You have experience in defining and communicating project strategy in a variety of contexts.
A background in the CMI Immunology focus areas of respiratory, gastroenterology or nephrology/rheumatology is preferred.
