Group Communications (GC) is responsible for shaping and safeguarding Roche’s reputation and voice at the global level. We communicate Roche’s strategy and purpose — Doing now what patients need next — to internal and external audiences, building trust, engagement, and understanding. We lead integrated campaigns, steward the corporate brand, and create platforms that enable effective, consistent, and audience-focused communication.

The Role

As a Senior Communications Manager, Employee Communications, you will play a key role in shaping how we communicate across Roche — driving clarity, connection, and engagement among employees at all levels. You will partner closely with Group Communications colleagues, People & Culture, and business leaders to bring strategic messages to life, drive engagement and ensure our internal communications are purposeful, people-centered, and aligned with enterprise priorities.

This role requires a strategic thinker and strong content creator who can connect dots across a complex organisation, simplify complexity, and help build a consistent and compelling internal voice for Roche.

Your Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver internal communication plans that support Roche’s strategy, culture, and business priorities.

• Translate enterprise-wide narratives and initiatives into clear, relevant, and engaging messages for employees.

• Collaborate with colleagues across Group Communications to ensure alignment and integration of messages across channels.

• Create high-quality content for internal campaigns, leadership communications, product and business milestones, events, and digital platforms — including messaging, articles, toolkits, and video scripts.

• Support the roll-out of Roche’s internal engagement strategy and contribute to the development of communication frameworks, standards, and governance.

• Help shape and continuously improve communication channels and platforms to better serve employee needs.

• Use feedback and data to assess communication effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.

• Actively contribute to a team culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous learning.

Who You Are

• You have a degree in Communications, Journalism, Organizational Development, or a related field.

• You bring 8+ years of experience in internal communications, employee engagement, or corporate communications within a complex, global organization.

• You are a strong writer and storyteller, able to distill complex topics into clear, engaging content for diverse audiences.

• You have experience in project management, and in leading complex, cross-functional communications initiatives.

• You are comfortable navigating change and ambiguity, and you bring a proactive, solution-oriented mindset to your work.

• You collaborate well across functions and levels, with strong interpersonal skills and a team-first attitude and are energized by purpose-driven work and passionate about helping employees feel informed, connected, and inspired.

• You have native-level English writing and verbal communication skills.
