The Position
Group Communications (GC) is responsible for creating a lasting positive image of Roche and are representing the company's voice on a Group level: We communicate Roche’s strategy and how we deliver on our purpose of "Doing now what patients need next” to Roche colleagues and external audiences. We drive integrated and global campaigns and provide platforms for communications business partners as well as our affiliates to engage with audiences. We contribute to building trust of key stakeholders, to managing Roche’s brand and reputation and to building a favorable environment for our business. The Opportunity
This is a senior position reporting into the Head of Partnering Communications. This position includes the responsibility for the strategic communications of the Roche Partnering Communications function of the Roche Group across Pharma Partnering, Business Development and M&A, to help those organizations achieve key business objectives, which are primarily to help Roche attract and secure the best scientific collaborators for any in- or out-licensing deal, or company acquisition.
Your Opportunities:
You are part of a team that is responsible for providing strategic communications leadership to the Corporate Business Development (CBD) organizations and for the global communications strategy for this organization.
You bring your deep communications expertise and extensive experience as a communications professional to enhance and elevate the communications for assigned functions.
You have a shared leadership responsibility and accountability for the CBD organization whilst acting as a strategic partner to leaders and executives and leading on critical enterprise matters and activities.
You ensure the CBD organisation is flawlessly represented in all communications strategies, plans and messaging/communications and that the Roche Group is recognized as a partner of choice across key internal and external audiences.
In addition, you will have the opportunity to contribute or lead communications projects on corporate topics within the wider Corporate Communications Business Partner Team.
Who you are
You have a university degree in Communications, Public Relations (or related field) as well as significant experience in strategic communications in a fast paced environment. You also have significant healthcare industry experience and a passion for science, deal-making, external innovation and creative business models. You possess excellent interpersonal skills and are comfortable working in a matrixed and multicultural environment. Additionally you bring the following skills and competencies:
You bring at least 5 years of experience in communications with a focus on global external audiences, especially media, investors, and biotech/partnering communities plus leadership experience and a deep knowledge of healthcare, Pharma, Diagnostics or Biotech industries
You demonstrate abilities to develop and manage large-scale global communications strategies, plans, activities and teams.
You practice outstanding consulting skills: active listening skills, ability to extract and quickly process key information, summarise key needs or interests of internal customers, and provide targeted and appropriate insights and recommendations.
You demonstrate excellent executive impact: Ability to present with integrity and presence as a spokesperson, communicator, mediator and presenter.
You demonstrate excellent change management skills and have a proven track record of effectively driving organisational transformation and innovation.
You show outstanding interpersonal & partnering skills: proven track record of building strong, collaborative and sustainable relationships with internal and external partners/stakeholders and experience working effectively in a networked, matrix environment.
You are fluent in English (verbal and written); German is an advantage.
