We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior DevOps Engineer II to play a key role in optimizing, automating, and managing our toolchain solutions. You will implement advanced infrastructure-as-code approaches and ensure seamless integration between development and operations. The goal is to make deployments more efficient, increase system performance, and foster strong collaboration between development, operations, and security teams. The ideal candidate will be proactive, solution-oriented, and a mentor and driver of automation and continuous improvement.

Senior DevOps Engineer II – CI/CD (m/f/d)

Main tasks

Technical implementation & development

• Improve infrastructure automation with tools like Terraform, PowerShell, and Bash
• Monitor and troubleshoot system and application performance.
• Define and implement enterprise-wide deployment strategies.
• Develop multi-region deployments and disaster recovery strategies.
• Establish progressive delivery techniques (feature flags, traffic shifting, A/B testing).
• Introduce and promote high-level infrastructure-as-code solutions.
• Drive innovation in deployment processes and system optimization.

Projects & Complexity

• Take responsibility for complex projects.
• Develop DevOps solutions independently and integrate them effectively.
• Continuously improve existing processes and tools.

Communication & Impact

• Promote positive team dynamics and work well with colleagues.
• Explain complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Negotiate technical compromises and solutions in consultation with stakeholders.
• Coordinate communication between development, operations and security.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree in computer science, engineering or a comparable field – alternatively relevant professional experience.

Professional experience

• 6-8 years of professional experience in DevOps or related roles.
• Experience with automation tools (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, Chef).
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools (e.g. GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Google Cloud Build).
• Experience in supervising younger colleagues is an advantage.
• Contribution to successful software products desirable.

Professional skills

• Advanced programming skills with a focus on maintainable code (Golang is a plus).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus).
• Deep understanding of version control (e.g. Git).
• Strong analytical and solution-oriented skills.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Proven leadership and mentoring skills.
• Good written and spoken English skills, knowledge of German is an advantage.
