As a backend engineer, you'll take ownership of our backend services while collaborating across the entire product lifecycle. You’ll work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers in a cross-functional team to plan, build, and ship features that matter.

You excel at designing scalable architectures, translating complex requirements into clean, maintainable code, and striking the right balance between pragmatism, performance, and extensibility.

Backend Development

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services using Python.
• Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code with a strong emphasis on type annotations and best practices.
• Develop robust RESTful APIs and ensure excellent API design and documentation.

Database Management

• Design efficient SQL database schemas and optimize queries for performance.
• Utilize NoSQL databases like Redis for caching and real-time data processing.

Cloud Services

• Deploy and manage applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Utilize cloud services to enhance application security, performance, and reliability.
• Implement logging solutions and configure monitoring tools to track system performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Improve our CI and delivery pipeline (Github actions and kubernetes)

Code Quality and Testing

• Ensure code quality and stability through unit testing, integration testing, and adherence to best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.

• You are an experienced software engineer (>= 5 years of experience)
• You are very familiar with Python and, ideally, also JavaScript/TypeScript
• Your strength are designing and improving scalable backend architectures, turn complex use cases into readable and maintainable business logic code
• You are familiar with ORMs (e.g. SQLAlchemy, Prisma) and you know how to build APIs (REST/GraphQL) that delight consumers
• You are interested in adjecent areas like Design, Product Managerment, DevOps and AI engineering
• You actively drive code quality and best practices in the codebase
• You thrive in in a fast moving environment with many opportunities to learn, grow and to give and receive feedback
