Intro
For our client Compa – an early-stage, VC-backed SaaS startup in the architecture and construction tech space – we are looking for a hands-on and entrepreneurial Founding Account Executive (m/f/d).
Compa is on a mission to free small architecture and construction firms from administrative overhead. The lightweight, cloud-based platform streamlines project management, field reporting and invoicing - so architects can spend their time designing Europe’s next architectural masterpieces, not wrestling with excel sheets and old software.
You’ll work directly with the founder to build the sales function from the ground up, own the entire sales cycle, and help define what scalable growth looks like. Perfect for someone who thrives in ambiguity, loves outbound, and wants to shape a company’s go-to-market strategy from day one.
Tasks
About the Role
As our Founding Account Executive, you’ll shape and drive our sales motion from the ground up (- together with the founder). You’ll own the full sales cycle: from discovery and demo to closing, and help us learn what really works in outbound. We’re not chasing vanity metrics – we’re looking for someone who thrives in a builder’s role: testing, improving and scaling what works.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the Sales Journey: Run discovery calls, demos and close deals with 1.000+ inbound leads per month.
- Test & Learn in Outbound: Build your pipeline through targeted outreach – cold emails, LinkedIn, calls. An intense day might mean 100+ outbound touches. The goal is to learn quickly before we build our playbook.
- Build our Sales Playbook: Develop and refine messaging, templates, CRM workflows and processes that help us scale.
Requirements
Who We’re Looking For
- Startup Sales Experience: 3–5 years experience selling SaaS. Ideally having grown from SDR/BDR into an AE role. Experience selling to SMEs is a strong plus.
- Entrepreneurial Builder: Thrive in ambiguity - build your pipeline and processes from zero.
- Hands-on closer: you are not afraid of outbound, enjoy rolling up your sleeves, handle high-touch days, and close multiple sub-€10k deals daily.
- Bias to Action: You test, learn, iterate. Action beats strategy...
- Autonomous Operator: You own your pipeline, targets and outcomes without hand-holding.
- Customer-First Mindset: Consultative seller who listens deeply, asks smart questions and earns trust.
- Tech-Fluent: Quick to master new SaaS products, CRM systems (we use HubSpot), and sales-engagement tools.
- Bilingual Communicator: You communicate fluently in both German and English – written and spoken. Whether it’s a discovery call, a LinkedIn message, or closing a deal: you switch languages with ease and adapt your tone to your audience.
