We are supporting our client, a leading company in the healthcare IT sector  in finding an experienced Interim R&D Manager to lead and stabilize their Engineering and Product Management teams during a critical transition phase.

This is a high-impact leadership role at VP/CTO level, with full responsibility for two core functions: Engineering (~26 FTEs) and Product Management (6 PMs). The mission is to ensure continuity, drive modernization, and prepare the ground for a permanent successor.

Role: Interim R&D Manager (Senior Leadership Level) Duration: 6–9 months (with option for permanent placement) Start: ASAP Location: Hybrid: based in Prague, with 2–3 days/week onsite in Brno Languages: Czech -  fluent/native (mandatory) and English - fluent (mandatory)

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and stabilize the combined Engineering and Product Management teams during a transitional phase

• Ensure on-time delivery of the product roadmap while maintaining high standards of product quality

• Drive localization efforts and lead the migration from G2 to G3 platforms

• Implement and embed the new Product House / System House operating model

• Assess and enhance the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and improve agile practices across teams

• Ensure full compliance with GDPR, NIS2, Group IT policies, and healthcare-specific regulatory standards

• Foster a collaborative team culture, actively address legacy silos, and boost morale and trust across departments

 Profile

• 10+ years of experience in senior software development leadership (e.g. VP of Engineering, CTO)

• Proven track record in managing both Engineering and Product Management functions

• Strong background in organizational transformation, turnaround management, and cloud/SaaS migration

• Industry experience in Healthcare IT or other regulated sectors; familiarity with the Czech healthcare system is a plus

• Fluent/native Czech and fluent English (both required)

• A pragmatic, neutral, and credible leader with a focus on conflict resolution, trust-building, and leading through change
