At JustPlay, we’re pioneering mobile entertainment through innovative technology, and we’re looking for a skilled and pragmatic Legal Counsel to support our mission. In this role, you will act as a trusted legal advisor across the company, helping us navigate a wide range of legal matters while enabling the business to move fast, responsibly, and in compliance with applicable laws.

Tasks

• You provide expert legal advice and guidance to different business units on a wide range of legal questions and matters
• You work closely with top management to assess and identify possible legal risks, while providing pragmatic and legal sounded advice
• You own the contract control process and act as the primary point of contact for external and internal stakeholders when it comes to drafting, reviewing and maintaining crucial legal documents
• You ensure JustPlay remains compliant with the applicable data protection and other compliance regulations within different jurisdictions (mainly EU and USA), including owning and further developing of a compliance framework, e.g setting up standards, guidelines, templates, internal processes etc.
• You constantly monitor and analyze legal developments and legislative changes and their relevance to JustPlay’s business

Requirements

• You completed an university degree in Law, as well as the first and second German state examinations
• You have at least 5+ years of experience in the legal field and a proven record of general counseling (ideally at international law firms or in the legal department of a multinational company)
• Ideally, you held a similar position as main General Legal Counsel in a startup environment
• You are fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
• You have a high degree of autonomy and an independent work style
• The ideal candidate would have a profound interest and background in the publishing and advertisement industry, experience with IT contracts and data protection law, as well as a strong business acumen
• Experience and knowledge in corporate law and governance and tax matters is an additional benefit
• This job opportunity can be based in Berlin or Munich and will be working on a hybrid model
