For more than 50 years, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), a German Federal Government company, has been supporting the global implementation of development policy goals. Together with partner organizations in 120 countries, we are involved in a wide variety of projects. If you want to make a difference in the world and develop yourself in the process, you've come to the right place.
The goal is to strengthen the capabilities of partners at the national and regional levels and to effectively protect both their citizens and critical civilian infrastructure from cyberattacks. This is achieved, among other things, through continuing education and training, promoting exchanges between diplomats and subject matter experts, and establishing uniform standards and institutions.
- Support in advising the Federal Foreign Office and other project partners on cybersecurity and cyber capacity development, e.g. through research
- Support in the preparation and organization of trainings, delegation trips and events with project partners
- Support in the development of communication materials for the project, such as presentations
- Completed university degree (at least Bachelor's degree) in the field of political or social sciences or a comparable subject relevant to the position
- Knowledge of German and international foreign and security policy and/or knowledge of cybersecurity
- Initial professional experience in international cooperation or development cooperation is an advantage, e.g. through internships or voluntary work
- Experience in working with African partners is an advantage
- Experience in (political) communication, event management or similar is an advantage
- Initial experience in cooperation with public, private or civil society institutions in digital or security policy areas is an advantage, e.g. through study projects or internships
- Strong commitment, team orientation, analytical understanding and quick comprehension, organizational talent and enjoyment of event management
- Fluent German and English skills
GIZ is a signatory to the Diversity Charter. Recognizing, valuing, and embracing diversity within the company is important to us. All employees should feel valued – regardless of gender and gender identity, nationality, ethnic origin, religion or belief, disability, age, or sexual orientation.
The internship is only possible if you are currently enrolled, are enrolled in a continuing education program that includes an internship, or if you have completed your studies no more than six months ago at the start of the internship.
The monthly intern salary is €2,205.04 (gross).
We support equal opportunities and welcome applications from people with disabilities.
