Somana is building a new category of health and movement studios in Europe.
We combine evidence-based physiotherapy, structured training, and behavior change to help people overcome chronic pain, regain mobility, and stay physically capable as they age. This is not a lifestyle brand. It is a physical, operationally complex business with real estate exposure, strong unit economics, and long-term ambition.
Our first flagship studio in Berlin is live. More locations are coming.
We are building Somana to scale — cleanly, credibly, and with discipline.
This role sits at the center of Somana’s execution engine.
As Operations, Finance & Expansion Lead, your job is to make sure growth actually works — not on slides, but in reality. You turn ambition into a company that is predictable, investable, and scalable.
You are not a finished CFO.
You are not a classic COO.
You are a builder who brings structure, clarity, and forward motion into a fast-growing company.
How success is measured
After 12 months, Somana should feel:
- more financially predictable,
- more operationally steered, and
- easier to scale without chaos or surprises.

Tasks
1. Finance, Discipline & Investor Readiness
You own financial clarity and rigor across the company.
- Build and maintain budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow visibility
- Prepare investor reporting and decision-ready analyses
- Ensure Somana is due-diligence ready at all times, not only during fundraising
- Own financial standards, documentation logic, and data quality
- Work with accountants, tax advisors, banks, and financing partners
- Support equity and debt financing, grants, and leasing structures

Requirements
1. Finance, Discipline & Investor Readiness
You own financial clarity and rigor across the company.

2. Operational Steering & KPIs (Not Day-to-Day Ops)
You steer the company through metrics, cadence, and accountability.
- Define and own KPIs and OKRs across teams and locations
- Establish operating rhythms (weekly, monthly, quarterly steering)
- Prepare leadership and steering meetings with clear decisions and follow-ups
- Oversee dashboards and BI basics; ensure consistency and truthfulness
- Identify early warning signals when performance drifts off track
Important:You own operational steering and performance, not daily studio management.
You define standards, escalation paths, and priorities — you do not run shifts or schedules.
3. Growth Through Location Expansion (Primary Growth Lever)
In this role, growth means real estate expansion.
You fully own the expansion pipeline and take this off the CEO’s plate.
- Lead location scouting and market analysis
- Build site-level business cases, unit economics, and investment models
- Structure financing for new locations (capex, payback, risk)
- Prepare and drive lease negotiations (CEO supports on final terms)
- Coordinate architects, landlords, legal partners, and contractors
- Own rollout planning and execution until opening-ready handover

As complexity increases and more locations open, additional roles will be added (e.g. Studio Operations, People & Culture, Medical Operations). This role is designed to grow with the company, taking on more scope while remaining a core pillar of how Somana is steered and scaled.

- CFO / COO–type role
