Salary group

Working at Charité

Our interdisciplinary research group investigates the interaction between the central nervous system (CNS) and bone, focusing on the role of adrenergic signaling. We study how different kinds of CNS trauma, such as traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury, interact with bone fractures. Investigating how the early metabolic and inflammatory trauma response is regulated by sympathetic signaling, we aim to develop novel therapies to improve clinical outcomes for patients with complex trauma. Benefits: Access to cutting-edge research facilities, including murine intensive care unit; Strong career development support, including conferences, workshops, and publications; FELASA course to acquire certified knowledge in animal handling; Exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative research with significant clinical implications

Overview of the position

· Investigating the impact of adrenergic signaling on the body’s acute response to combined injuries

· Design and conduct in vivo experiments using an advanced murine intensive care unit to model the patient situation

· Perform serum and organ analysis (ELISA, qPCR, FACS) for stress hormones, metabolic markers, cytokines and immune cells after polytrauma

· Advance a project in polytrauma research and communicate your findings (publications, presentations)

· Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including experts in bone biology and trauma research

· According to Section 110 BerlHG, the employee is provided with time for their own academic qualifications
