The Asociación Centroamericana Centro Humboldt (ACCH) is an internationally renowned organization specializing in climate and environmental issues. ACCH advocates for sustainable and just environmental management in the Central American region. Its focus areas range from biodiversity, water resources, and renewable energy to the social management of natural risks. Civil society plays a fundamentally important role in promoting environmental and human rights. Therefore, ACCH's strategy aims to ensure broad active participation, from analyzing national climate contributions (Nationally Determined Contributions, NDCs) to engaging in climate policy advocacy. ACCH increasingly leverages national and international partnerships. For example, it serves as the technical secretariat for the Network of Latin America (CANLA).

The position is located in Guatemala City.

Your expertise in Central America is in demand! Join forces with the ACCH team and the CANLA network to shape the future of sustainable development in the region:

• You will develop advocacy plans and training programmes.
• You will assist in the creation and revision of shadow reports.
• You will support the organisation of events at regional and international level and peer-to-peer training.
• You will map potential sources of funding and stabilise fundraising for ACCH and CANLA.
• You will implement feedback systems and develop a long-term sustainability strategy using participatory methods.

As an experienced consultant with a comprehensive and professional understanding of international climate policy, particularly the UNFCCC and NDC processes, you have:

• A degree in social sciences, environmental sciences, international cooperation or related fields.
• Several years of professional experience in advocacy, project management, sustainability or development cooperation, ideally in Central America.
• In-depth knowledge of the participatory development and implementation of advocacy strategies, as well as experience in moderating and conducting training courses in an intercultural context.
• Strong communication and presentation skills (written and oral) in Spanish and English.
• Experience in drafting and revising shadow reports and in organising events, workshops and conferences.
• Knowledge of fundraising and project applications (e.g. grant research and application).
• Familiarity with monitoring, evaluation and feedback systems in international projects.
• Flexibility and willingness to travel for networking in the region.
