Your Future Role
Ernst-Reuter-Platz 6, in the heart of Berlin, is home to Alstom's DACH regional headquarters. Up to 500 colleagues of more than 40 nationalities work here, focusing on project management, business development, and regional strategy, with a special emphasis on rail digitalization. Our product line Rolling Stock & Components offers products from the broadest portfolio in the rail industry. Our innovation focus is on green and smart solutions, including emission-free propulsion systems such as batteries and hydrogen.
In the portfolio of Mainline CNE Projects and Development of >1 b€ pa business volume and > 40 live projects, you will ensure the "On Time in Full” delivery of the customers’ contractual milestones for all projects, by destination and ensure time coherency between the different functions, axis (project management, development, programs, operations), layers (strategic, tactical, operational) for all recurrent and non-recurrent planning activities.
You’ll report to Falk Mehdorn and work alongside a dedicated and enthusiastic team.
We’ll look for you to:
• Set up Planning in Mainline CNE, animate the planning managers community across all Alstom and foster a strong Project Planning Management and look-ahead culture within all Alstom.
• Define the planning capacity models, the trainings curriculum, the Planning Academies, the mentoring program and the Project Planning certification.
• Directly lead the planning team in the VP Project and Portfolio Organization.
• Lead and support the stabilization of schedules and prevent slippage of project schedules.
• Support project launches to baseline with right approaches to planning and change management from the beginning of new projects.
• Support development activities to balance multiple work package – capacity – demand situations.
• Support projects in Risk & Opportunity management.
• Deploy the planning métier requirements and promote continuous improvements to improve performance and great discipline in all planning activities.
• Support the company-wide Project Planning processes and methodology, in bid & execution, with associated training and deployment to regions.
• Propose the mid-term and long-term roadmap of project planning tools and coordinate the deployment of the project planning tools.
• Define the planning tools & data apps landscape, including the application & integration rules for customer / project / métiers schedule.
• Ensure respect of the customer projects and programs committed deliveries on time.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, or a related field; Master’s degree is preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Planning/ Project Management/ Supply Chain in different positions (project/ bid management, development, production, finance, business development)/ Scheduling process and tools.
• Leadership experience managing multicultural teams.
• Good knowledge of planning & scheduling tools such as Kinaxis, Planisware, Primavera or Microsoft Project.
• Experience in the Railway Industry or Construction is desirable.
• Advanced certification in Project Management/ Planning Management or relevant demonstration in practice is highly preferred.
• Very good communication and interpersonal skills, including interfacing with senior management.
• Strategic, rigorous, multi-tasking, collaborative, accountable and transparent
• Comfortable working in a matrixed, international environment, being Results-driven and a strong decision-maker.
• English at a fluent level is mandatory for this role, German/French fluency are considered a plus.
