Merchant Solutions Technology

The Merchant Solutions Technology group provides the Corporate Bank with a dedicated team that capitalizes on the rapidly evolving technology industry to provide our clients new products and innovation to meet their growing needs within an Agile FinTech-like setup. We deliver innovative products such as our Digital Payment Gateway (creating an API based solution allowing Marketplaces and Merchant to streamline their payment processing and settlement activities). As part of our new team within the Berlin Tech Hub you will be responsible for technical design, coding, automated unit testing and integration and will liaise with the Product Owner, Architects, Product Managers, software engineers/developers and testers regarding the development and implementation of product lines using various technologies.

As a QA Chapter Lead and Automation Engineer (m/f/x), you will be ensuring end-to-end the quality of applications for Merchant Solutions to accomplish business goals.

Your key responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership & Quality Vision: Define and drive the overall QA strategy, champion shift-left testing, BDD, and automation-first approaches, and lead the design and implementation of non-functional testing strategies.

• Chapter Leadership & Talent Development: Lead a chapter of QA engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning, and host regular chapter huddles to share best practices and drive capability uplift.

• Agile Delivery & Squad Engagement: Actively contribute to a delivery squad, collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Developers to ensure test coverage and release readiness, and plan and implement test automation activities.

• Governance & Operational Excellence: Serve as the sign-off authority for QA readiness in releases, identify and mitigate risks related to QA capacity and process gaps, and develop in-house testing automation tools and frameworks.

• Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Work with Developers, Business and Technical Analysts to build test cases, manage test issues and risks, and participate in release management and process improvement.

Your skills and experiences

• Significant and proven testing and troubleshooting experience across software development lifecycle from several years of experience in Software Development or Quality Assurance.

• Proven experiences in performance, load, and stress testing with suites e. g. Loadrunner

• Automated test tool/frameworks development experience with Selenium and REST API testing (preferably Java, Groovy or Kotlin plus knowledge of SQL and UNIX).

• Understanding software development and testing processes.

• Understanding of banking systems and processes is a huge advantage.

• Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English; German language knowledge would be a plus.
