As a Senior Backend Engineer (m/f/d) you will play a vital role in developing Noxtua's privacy-first Legal AI solution helping professionals in the law research and advising domain. You'll build scalable, high-performance backend services while working closely with AI researchers and engineers to implement cutting-edge features and optimize system performance.
YOUR TEAM
The Tech team consists of around 10 individuals who work remotely or at the office in Berlin city center. Besides the development team, Noxtua's technical lead and an external consultant team handle various tasks related to providing Noxtua's development team with the necessary technical environment, ensuring the smooth operation and scalability of Noxtua's AI applications.

Your responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable backend servicesusing Rust, focusing on the core APIs that handle the heavy lifting for Noxtua's platform
• Design, develop, and deploy secure and robust APIswith a focus on scalability, stability, and security for customer-facing services
• Manage Service and Tenant APIsusing Python, including tenant creation, administration, and rights management for efficient customer operations
• Integrate AI libraries primarily in Python, implementing features close to LLMs (Large Language Models) and supporting AI-related API development
• Optimize algorithms and system performanceto ensure speed, scalability, and overall system reliability across the platform
• Contribute to platform developmentwith a focus on security and stability while designing and deploying new APIs for AI-driven features
• Collaborate with AI Engineers, DevOps, and Frontend Developersto implement solutions effectively and ensure seamless integration across teams

About you

• Working Permission:EU

• Language:English (fluent)
• Strong proficiency in Rust and Python, with at least 2 years of Rust experience, including API development (eg withTokio)and applyingOpenAPI standards
• Expertise in backend development, including database integration (PostgreSQL), Docker containerization, and security practices likeOAuthand secure coding
• Solid understanding of system architecture, with experience in microservices, scalable deployments usingKubernetes, and network architecture fundamentals
• Strong problem-solving and algorithmic skills, with a clean code approach and a focus on performance optimization
• Test-driven development mindset, with proven experience in extending Python projects, ensuring type-safe coding practices, and efficient collaboration within cross-functional teams
