Requirements
- 5+ years of full-stack engineering experience with significant experience building modern web applications and distributed systems
- you should feel equally comfortable developing well-crafted front-end UIs (e.g. in React or similar) and scalable back-end services/APIs (Node.js, Python, Java, etc.)
- proficient in cloud platforms (AWS or similar), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and DevOps practices
- strong interest and preferably hands-on experience in AI/ML technologies (API integration, models, RAG systems, or recommendation engines) and experience with AI development tools like Cursor, Cline, Claude Code is a plus
- bring a polyglot mindset and a high degree of adaptability and curiosity – you learn quickly, adapt easily, and are not afraid to venture outside your comfort zone
- solution-oriented mindset and a "just do it” mentality is key – you prefer shipping value over chasing perfection and are confident, driven, and open to try new things
- excellent communication skills in English and ability to work closely with non-technical stakeholders
- agile mindset, comfortable with ambiguity, and eager to bring startup energy to a fast-moving environment
Scope of Work
- design, build, and operate AI-powered features across the entire stack – from frontend to scalable microservices
- implement intelligent content personalization, newsroom automation, and generative journalism tools
- lead impactful special projects, from rapid prototypes to full-scale systems, with strong influence on technical direction and strategic outcomes
- work in cross-functional teams (engineering, product, editorial) and own projects from concept to production
- manage infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines (cloud, containers) to ensure stable and performant systems
- explore and apply cutting-edge AI/ML technologies (e.g. LLMs, recommendation systems, RAG architectures, multimodal AI)
- mentor colleagues, conduct code reviews, and foster technical excellence across the team
- translate complex AI/tech topics into clear language for technical and non-technical stakeholders
