Your future role:
Ernst-Reuter-Platz 6, in the heart of Berlin, is home to Alstom's DACH regional headquarters. Up to 500 colleagues of more than 40 nationalities work here, focusing on project management, business development, and regional strategy, with a special emphasis on rail digitalisation. Our corporate functions play a key role in supporting and continuously improving the performance of our sites. You’ll report to Simon Schützeneder and work alongside a dedicated and enthusiastic team.
We are looking for an ambitious Senior Legal Counsel who can provide legal support and expertise regarding legal issues arising from business activities with customers, partners and subcontractors. The role is based in Berlin, but you will be a part of the Central and Northern Europe Legal team. It entails some traveling, both within CNE and to other sites in Europe.
The position reports to Head of Legal DACH supporting the business in all legal matters where the key accountabilities include:
- Negotiating contracts and other legal documents,
- Support the business in all legal and contractual matters including claim management and dispute settlement,
- Contractual and legal evaluation of tender documents,
- Handling of corporate law matters,
- Promoting the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct.
The position is based in Berlin, but you will be a part of the Central and Northern Europe Legal team. The role entails some traveling, both within CNE and to other sites in Europe.
- German Law Degree; 1st and 2nd State exam;
- Additional qualifications (e.g. master degree, PhD, specialist certification) would be an asset;
- At least 7 years of working experience in a legal department of an internationally operating enterprise or a law firm with international focus;
- Experience in dealing with complex legal matters;
- Excellent knowledge of German civil law, commercial law and corporate law;
- Experience with public procurement law, dispute resolution and competition law;
- Intellectual Property law knowledge is an asset;
- Strong negotiation, drafting and communication skills;
- Excellent written expression and negotiation skills in German and English.
