The Senior Network Engineer (m/f/d) role is based in Berlin, but can be done almost fully Remote.

Aufgabengebiet

• Configure, operate, and maintain network infrastructure including Juniper SRX firewalls, QFX/EX switches, Fortinet FortiGate firewalls, FortiSwitches, and OPNsense firewalls
• Manage Microsoft Azure networking components and services
• Implement firewall policies, VPN connections (IPsec), and secure access methods based on zero-trust and least-privilege principles
• Monitor network health, traffic, and performance using Prometheus, Grafana Loki, and OpsGenie
• Deploy and optimize reverse proxies (HAProxy, Traefik) and DNS configurations for high availability
• Apply Infrastructure-as-Code principles using Ansible (and optionally Terraform)
• Troubleshoot and analyze network issues using Wireshark, nmap, and vendor-specific tools
• Document configurations and contribute to continuous improvement of network operations

Anforderungsprofil

• Solid hands-on experience in operational network engineering in enterprise or global data center environments
• Proven expertise with Juniper EX, QFX, SRX platforms, Fortinet FortiGate, FortiSwitches, and OPNsense
• Strong understanding of network protocols (BGP, OSPF, RIP), VPN technologies (IPsec), secure network design, and Zero Trust principles
• Familiarity with reverse proxy services, DNS management, and performance optimization
• Proficiency in Ansible (Terraform is a plus) for network automation
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools
• Fluent English skills (German is a plus) and strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving abilities
