We are seeking a highly skilled (Senior) Risk and Control Manager (d/f/m) to join mobile.de.

You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's enterprise-wide risk management framework, internal control systems, and internal audit functions. This role ensures the organization identifies, assesses, and mitigates risks effectively while maintaining robust controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.

You will operate on a hybrid model, requiring a combination of remote work and in-office presence at our Berlin office in Charlottenburg.

Your tasks and responsibilities

Risk Management:

  • Develop and implement the organization's enterprise risk management (ERM) framework, including risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring.

  • Facilitate risk workshops with various departments to identify and document key business risks.

  • Create and maintain a comprehensive risk register, tracking all identified risks and their mitigation statuses.

  • Provide regular reports on the organization's risk exposure and mitigation efforts to senior management and the board of directors.

  • Promote a risk-aware culture throughout the organization through training and communication.

Internal Control Systems:

  • Design and implement a robust internal control framework to ensure the integrity of financial and operational data, safeguard company assets, and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.

  • Conduct periodic reviews and assessments of internal controls to identify weaknesses and recommend improvements.

  • Develop and update internal control policies and procedures in line with best practices.

  • Collaborate with process owners to ensure controls are embedded in business operations and are effective.

Internal Audit:

  • Develop and execute a risk-based internal audit plan.

  • Conduct independent audits of financial and operational processes to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with company policies.

  • Prepare and present audit reports to management, detailing audit findings, risks, and recommendations for corrective action.

  • Follow up on audit findings to ensure that management has implemented agreed-upon corrective actions.

  • Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.

Your skill profile:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certifications like Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or Financial Risk Manager (FRM) are highly preferred.

  • Min. 6-8+ years proven experience in risk management, internal audit, or a similar role.

  • Strong understanding of corporate governance, internal controls (e.g., COSO framework), and risk management principles.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Proficiency with risk management software and data analysis tools.
