BESCHREIBUNG
AWS Fraud Prevention has opportunities for Software Development Engineers who want to challenge themselves by building solutions using the latest tech in distributed systems at scale to catch the bad actors who are out there. We are at the forefront of protecting AWS (i.e. all AWS services) and its customers from fraud and compromise attacks. AWS is the world leader in providing a highly reliable, scalable and low-cost infrastructure platform in the cloud. As AWS continues to grow at a rapid rate, fraudsters continue to find new ways to exploit our services. We have built fraud investigation and enforcement platforms that are extensible, configurable and massively scalable. You will work closely with machine learning research scientists to support and extend our current platforms and design next generation fraud and compromise prevention systems. Your work will have a direct impact on AWS cloud products and all our customers. You will work in a quickly evolving environment in a business that needs to rapidly adapt to changing fraud patterns. Our low operational load combined with complicated technical and business problems will provide opportunities to satisfy your curiosity and support professional growth. The ideal candidate will have strong distributed systems and web services design and implementation experience, as well as experience working on high availability production systems.
Key job responsibilities
- You are expected to independently design and deliver well-engineered software components & services.
- You are expected to produce consistently high-quality code and documentation. The quality of the deliverable is measured by peer reviews, operational readiness reviews and system performance after deployment.
- You will own difficult business problems in the fraud prevention space and resolves ambiguity by aligning system requirements and success criteria with the product management, UX & other sister teams.
- You will be responsible for mentoring other SDEs and establish operational rigor.
About the team
AWS Fraud Prevention’s mission is to protect AWS and its customers from the cost, inconvenience, and damage due to fraudulent and abusive behaviors. We aim to provide the best possible customer experience by balancing the cost of financial and reputational risk (e.g. OPEX, service unavailability) against customer friction (e.g. service limits, customer downtime). To accomplish this mission, we employ a strategy that includes preventing access to AWS via the sign-up process, detecting fraudulent and abusive behaviors using Machine Learning models and rules, containing risky accounts by limiting access to service resources, investigating suspicious accounts, and remediating fraud and compromise within AWS by cleaning up account resources to recover service capacity.
Utility Computing (UC)
AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.
