Your mission

As a Software Engineer in the Platform team, you’ll work on growing and maintaining PartsOS, our core data platform, and its integrations with other systems. If you’ve got a knack for solving tough challenges with elegant, scalable solutions, we want to hear from you!

Tasks

• Backend Brilliance: Build and maintain backend services using Python (Django). Shape our platform architecture to power the frontend and seamlessly connect with external systems.
• Seamless Integration: Ensure smooth collaboration between frontend and backend by developing and documenting RESTful APIs.
• Data Science: Implement and maintain algorithms for the data planning and optimization engine.
• Data Engineering: Develop and refine ETL pipelines to import, clean, and validate data efficiently.
• CI/CD & Testing: Contribute to the CI/CD pipeline, deploying backend services and frontend updates effortlessly. Write and maintain unit and integration tests to guarantee reliability across systems.

Requirements

• Here are some of the skills we are looking for — the greater the match, the better.
  Experienced Engineer: You’ve shipped code in production apps and know how to build real-world, scalable software.
• API & Database Expert: You’ve built REST APIs and worked with PostgreSQL (or a similar database).
• Data Engineer: Experience with ETL pipeline development and data cleaning techniques. Familiarity with the Python modern data stack.
• Data Scientist: Skilled in designing and maintaining algorithms. Bonus: previous experience with planning and optimization.
• CI/CD Contributor: You’ve worked in environments with CI/CD pipelines, ensuring smooth and reliable deployments.
• Good Communicator: You are a strong communicator and fluent in English. German is a plus, but not required.
• Work Eligibility: You are located in Europe and hold all the necessary work authorizations for your country.

The Tools You’ll Be Using

SQL: Query and manage data for insightful, data-driven decisions.

• Dagster: Orchestrate reliable and efficient data pipelines.
• Vue.js and TailwindCSS: If you are interested in also contributing to the frontend
• Docker: Containerize applications for consistent deployment across environments.
• AWS: Manage flexible, scalable infrastructure for robust application support.
• Linux servers: Manage on-premises servers for high-performance application support.
