Description
The test engineer will be responsible for conducting vehicle tests, which requires flexibility to travel within Europe depending on the vehicle’s location. Travel may account for up to 100% of the working time.
- Review input documentation (subsystem designs, circuit diagrams, requirements).
- Prepare and review type test specifications for trains and lab setups.
- Support drafting and reviewing of type test procedures in line with EN standards and customer requirements.
- Execute static and dynamic tests on trains and in lab environments, both on-site and off-site.
- Perform functional type tests using a structured test case database and ensure traceability.
- Prepare detailed type test reports as part of certification deliverables.
- Review related documentation, including design changes and validation reports.
- Support commissioning phases and interact with customers/assessors during witnessed tests.
- Contribute to test effort estimation and support milestone achievement in quality and time.

Job requirements
- Degree in Engineering or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in railway vehicle, system, or component testing.
- Familiarity with EN railway standards (EN 50126/8/9, EN 50155, EN 50121, EN 61373).
- Experience with test management and requirements tools (e.g., DOORS, Polarion, Jira).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with a customer-oriented mindset.
- Detail-oriented, ensuring test activities and reports are accurate and traceable.
- Proactive, autonomous, and results-driven.
- Fluent in German and English.
