The Shared Applications and Services (SAS) organization was created in 2023 to manage shared tools across the bank, such as workflow platforms, document systems, and process automation. Within SAS, the Workflow Tribe delivers secure, scalable workflow solutions and plays a key role in driving innovation and agility across the bank. It works in an agile setup with Squads and Centers of Expertise (CoEs) to support collaboration and continuous delivery.

We’re looking for a Workflow Engineering Chapter Lead (f/m/x) to mentor and grow a team of engineers. This senior role combines strong technical skills with people leadership. You’ll promote a culture of excellence and continuous improvement while overseeing the development of key software applications. You’ll report to the Tribe Engineering Lead and work closely with multiple squads. Fluency in both German and English is essential for engaging with stakeholders at all levels.

Your key responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and inspire a chapter of software engineers, fostering their professional growth and career development.

• Provide technical leadership and guidance on the architecture, design, and implementation of software applications built with Java, Elasticsearch, Kubernetes, and cloud technologies.

• Effectively communicate technical concepts, project status, and risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders at various levels.

• Champion software engineering best practices, including code quality, automated testing, CI/CD, and application lifecycle management.

• Conduct regular one-on-ones, performance reviews, and goal-setting sessions.

Your skills and experiences

• Proven experience in a senior software engineering role with a track record of technical leadership.

• Demonstrable experience in people management, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management of software engineers.

• Strong hands-on expertise with our core technology stack: Java, Hibernate, Spring, Kafka, Elasticsearch. Springboot, BPMN engines

• Business fluency in both German and English

• Be proactive, well-spoken, and solution-oriented individual with a passion for both technology and people.
