In this role, you’ll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities
As a Backend Developer at IBM, you'll work with clients to co-create solutions to major real-world challenges by using best practice technologies, tools, techniques, and products to translate system requirements into the design and development of customized systems. Your responsibilities include:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
- Implementing and maintaining RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
- Ensuring secure, clean, and maintainable code.
- Collaborating in agile teams (Scrum/SAFe) and contributing to CI/CD pipelines.
- Working closely with DevOps and QA for seamless deployment and testing.

Switzerland
Required technical and professional expertise
- Extensive experience in Java and Spring Boot development
- Strong experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs
- Hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases
- Practical experience in developing microservices architectures
- Proficient in containerization (Docker) and Kubernetes
- Familiar with CI/CD tools
- Knowledge of JUnit
- Excellent knowledge of one of the following: OpenShift Or Azure or AWS
- Experience working in Scrum or SAFe environments
- Fluent in German and English (written & spoken)
- Swiss or EU nationality, or a valid Swiss work permit
Preferred technical and professional experience
- Experienced in using IntelliJ, Helm, ArgoCD, GitLab/GitHub, Tekton
- MavenSolid understanding of clean and secure coding practices
- Knowledge of Cucumber
- Familiarity with Jira
- Understanding of AI concepts within software development lifecycle
