Job purpose
The RFQ Strategy Manager represents Global RFQ Management on all RFQ-related topics within the DGF business unit and across other business units. This role drives alignment among cross-functional global stakeholders to achieve common goals and deliver the Global RFQ Strategic agenda.
Principal accountabilities
- Defining and implementing strategic initiatives within Global RFQ Management processes (e.g., RFQ content solutions, collaboration platforms, process optimization, training programs).
- Coaching and training internal stakeholders on RFQ topics.
- Driving continuous improvement of RFQ processes at a global level.
- Manage and/or support projects to improve RFQ processes and tools, applying continuous improvement principles.
- Manage and/or support projects to design and develop new features for RFQ collaboration tools; manage testing, training, and issue resolution.
- Drive adoption of the global RFQ operating model at country level, including onboarding and training local teams.
- Align with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure mutual decisions and progress.
- Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for RFQ processes; provide one-on-one coaching and best practice guidance.
- Recommend improvements to RFQ leadership based on observations and expertise.
KPIs and Success Metrics
To measure success in this role, the following KPIs will apply:
- Project Delivery: Complete strategic RFQ improvement projects on time and within budget.
- Innovation Contribution: Implement agreed number of new process or tool enhancements annually.
- Training Coverage: Deliver RFQ process training to 100% of targeted teams within agreed timelines.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience
- Deep expertise in Sales and Air & Ocean Freight Forwarding, with strong knowledge of Tender Management in Freight Forwarding.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with peers and senior management at global, regional, and local levels.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and intercultural awareness for smooth international collaboration.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality work independently and proactively.
- Strong project management experience, capable of managing large-scale projects with minimal oversight.
- Curiosity and adaptability to learn new skills in a dynamic environment
- Excellent English communication (written and spoken).
- Strong presentation and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Visual design and layout capabilities.
- Educational and coaching skills; strong interpersonal and stakeholder management abilities.
- Advanced computer proficiency; solid business acumen and sales skills.
- 5–7 years in Sales & Marketing and Freight Forwarding industry.
- In-depth knowledge of Air and Ocean Freight products.
- Significant experience in Bid/RFQ processes.
