Job purpose

Lead the Global Ocean Freight Reefer & Bulk Solutions operations to drive process excellence, solution delivery, and operational efficiency across the global network. Ensure business processes are standardized, compliant, and continuously improved in alignment with the OFR Global Target Operating Model and the overall business strategy. Oversee the delivery of digital and operational solutions that enhance efficiency, compliance, and customer satisfaction while fostering collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Principal accountabilities

Strategic Process and Operational Excellence

• Develop and implement operational process optimization and improvement strategies in line with global objectives.
• Lead operational scenario assessments, process design, and redesign initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity.
• Determine where processes should adapt to system capabilities ("system-led”) and where systems should be configured to meet process requirements ("process-led”).
• Ensure alignment with the Ocean Freight business strategy and local business environments.
• Support Global Operations strategies for regions and countries to achieve maximum productivity.
• Lead strategic initiatives and identify cross-divisional synergies to optimize Reefer & Bulk operations.
• Evaluate post-implementation performance to measure benefits and ensure continuous improvement.

Solution Delivery and Technology Integration

• Lead the delivery of operational and digital solutions to enhance efficiency, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
• Define the standardized use of DGF systems and technical solutions (e.g., CW1, Station Metrics, Customer Facing Solutions, EDM, myDHLi) and ensure adoption Reefer & Bulk operations.
• Collaborate with IT and digitalization teams to integrate and optimize technology solutions supporting automation and process improvement.
• Recommend enhancements to the technological landscape to meet evolving operational and business requirements.

Compliance, Risk, and Performance Management

• Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and corporate compliance requirements across operations.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate operational and technological risks to maintain business continuity.
• Establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate operational and solution delivery performance.
• Support senior management with analyses, performance meeting materials, and ad hoc reporting.
• Evaluate and solve operational escalations including intra-company disputes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Stakeholder Management

• Facilitate collaboration across functions to align processes, share best practices, and support global initiatives.

Customer Experience and Service Excellence

• Ensure operational and solution delivery initiatives enhance service quality and meet customer needs.
• Maintain a customer-centric approach across all processes and solutions.
• Identify, design and implement retention & optimization initiatives for key customers.

Training and Development

• Provide coaching, mentoring of direct reports and the Reefer & Bulk operations teams
• Foster a collaborative, performance-driven culture emphasizing accountability, continuous learning, and innovation.

Education level

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification/experience.

Experience Required

• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in global operations, logistics, or related fields.
