The University Hospital Bonn (UKB) is a maximum care hospital with more than 1,300 beds. Our more than 9,000 employees take on tasks in research, teaching and patient care as well as in public health at the highest level. In the science ranking (LOMV) and in the economic result, the UKB is number 1 of the university hospitals in NRW and in 2021 had the third highest case mix index of the university hospitals in Germany. The following full-time (38.5 hours/week) is to be filled as soon as possible in the Division for Computational Radiology & Clinical AI (CCIBonn.ai) of the University Hospital Bonn: Software Engineer/Developer (m/f/d) Due to funding regulations, the position is limited to 3 years. We, at the division for Computational Radiology & Clinical AI (CCIBonn.ai) at the University Hospital Bonn / University of Bonn (PI: Philipp Vollmuth – Full Professor of AI in Medical Imaging), are seeking applications for Software Engineer positions to support our software platform team. Our research group has consistently contributed to leading journals and conferences, and we are developing various tools to support our research projects. You can check out our work on our GitHub organizations (OpenRadX (https://github.com/openradx) and CCIBonn (https://github.com/CCI-Bonn) ). This opportunity offers a unique chance to work at the forefront of medical AI and contribute to substantial advancement in the medical field. You will be part of a dynamic team that bridges the gap between cutting-edge AI research and clinical application, ensuring that our software tools are robust, efficient, and user-friendly. Tasks:
· Develop, test, and maintain software applications for computational radiology and medical AI
· Program backend and frontend code for tools like ADIT (Automated DICOM Transfer Tool) (https://github.com/openradx/adit) and RADIS (Radiology Report Archive and Discovery System) (https://github.com/openradx/radis)
· Work closely with researchers and clinicians to implement and enhance application features
· Write technical documentation Requirements:
· A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
· Proficiency in web programming and expertise in programming languages such as Python and JavaScript/TypeScript
· Experience with tools and frameworks such as Django, pytest, PostgreSQL, and Docker is advantageous
· Knowledge of medical imaging data, DICOM standards, and/or NLP is considered a plus
· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
· Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal We offer:
