Our client is an established industrial group in Lower Saxony. With a long tradition and a strong market position, the company develops and manufactures high-quality, design-oriented products that are distributed internationally.

As Finance Director (m/f/d), you will hold overall responsibility for all Finance, Accounting, and Controlling activities within the German and other group companies. Reporting directly to the Managing Directors and maintaining close cooperation with the international group headquarters, you will play a key role in shaping financial strategy, governance, and performance management. You will lead a skilled Finance team, ensure transparency and compliance in financial reporting, and act as a trusted business partner to management and the group.
Key Leadership Role in an International Design-Focused Company – Lower Saxony
Your Responsibilities
· Overall responsibility for Accounting, Controlling, and Financial Reporting across all group entities
· Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (HGB, consolidated)
· Manage group consolidation and financial reporting to the headquarters
· Drive budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis processes
· Ensure effective liquidity, cash flow, treasury, and risk management
· Liaison with auditors, tax authorities, customs, banks, insurers, and external consultants.
· Continuously optimize financial processes, systems, and internal controls
· Provide financial guidance for strategic initiatives and investments
· Tax/VAT and customs compliance, including preparation of tax/VAT statements and audits
· Foster collaboration and alignment with international finance teams
Your Profile
· Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or related field
· Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in Finance, Accounting, and Controlling, ideally gained in a medium-sized industrial manufacturing company with close interfaces to an international group structure
· Profound knowledge of German GAAP (HGB); IFRS experience advantageous
· Proven leadership experience in managing and developing teams
· Strong analytical and process-oriented mindset with a focus on operational excellence
· Excellent English skills; additional languages are an advantage
· Confident user of SAP systems and strong proficiency in Excel
· Strategic and hands-on leader with integrity, reliability, and sound judgment
· Entrepreneurial mindset with strong business acumen and pragmatic problem-solving
· Empathic communicator who promotes collaboration, empowerment, and accountability
· Skilled in managing cross-functional and international interfaces
