Your role
- Safely and efficiently operate equipment relating to wastewater treatment in accordance with company policies, procedures and work instructions.
- Maintain and promote a safe and environmentally compliant working environment. This includes utilizing proper PPE, following all Safety, Health and Environmental guidelines and actively participating in safety meetings and discussions. Be aware that any employee has the responsibility to not operate unsafe equipment or not take operational risks outside of procedures that may create a Safety, Health or Environmental concern.
- Read and record operational data in log books, checklists and forms.
- Use SAP to order supplies and make tank movements.
- Perform process control testing, interpret results and make necessary adjustments to maintain efficiencies in plant performance.
- Safely operate sludge handling equipment and related processes.
- Serve as the main responsible party for the safety work permit procedures in the plant: Permit-to Work, Lock Out/Tag Out, Hot Work, Confined Space Entry.
- Make process adjustments as needed based on information gathered from a variety of sources (sample analysis, computer monitors, etc.) Analyze and interpret samples.
- Possess a working knowledge of the controls in their specific area. Must be knowledgeable and capable of process / equipment troubleshooting and recommending/implementing corrective actions as required—note that any changes outside of existing procedures must follow our Management of Change process.
- In a back-up role, unload and/or load Freight incoming/outgoing trucks when required.
- Perform minor maintenance activities, as necessary.
- Inspect and maintain the hazardous waste area of the facility.
- Maintain a clean work environment through good housekeeping practices.
- Report any operational deficiencies, problems or issues to the wastewater supervisor.
- Conduct work in accordance with company core values.
About you
Required Skills/Knowledge:
- Basic knowledge of pump operations.
- Good mathematical skills.
- Basic understanding of the manufacturing processes.
Preferred Skills/Knowledge:
- Understanding of the wastewater process in an industrial environment.
- Hazardous Material/DOT Training (Must be completed within 1yr after assignment)
- Lab Analyst License (Must be completed within 1yr after assignment)
Required Education/Licenses/Certifications/Accreditations:
- High School Degree or equivalent.
- Industrial Wastewater Operator License.
