Job Description:
In order to support airframe engineering, Airbus is looking for a
Fatigue and Damage Tolerance Engineer (d/f/m)
Are you passionate about analysing structure? Are you interested in light weight structure, bringing knowledge as well as willingness to continuously develop your expertise? As a fatigue and damage tolerance engineer within the high lift perimeter you will provide a significant contribution to the safety and reliability of our aircraft components. This demands technical knowledge in the field of fatigue and damage tolerance or stress analysis, a high sense for responsibility and integrity and relation management inside and outside our team.
The Wing Moveables department is a diverse team responsible for structure components generating lift during take off and landing, as are slats and flaps. We ensure the certification of our components with respect to aviation regulations, we support the constant improvement of our products, and we ensure the in-service safety.
We are analysing static strength, fatigue performance as well as damage tolerance.
This role is also available with reduced weekly hours and an adapted scope of tasks.

Your tasks and responsibilities
Analysis of high lift components in terms of fatigue and crack propagation (damage tolerance)
Ensurance of compliance to aviation regulations, design principles and Airbus methods and processes
Demonstration of compliance to airworthiness requirements with respect to Structure analysis
Definition and interpretation of tests
Management and surveillance of suppliers with respect to structure analyses
Guidance and knowledge transfer to early careers and stakeholders
Desired skills and qualifications
University degree in technical mechanics, mechanical engineering, civil engineering or comparable
Several years of experience in fatigue and damage tolerance analyses (fatigue life prediction, crack propagation analysis)
Knowledge of force flows and static strength analysis
Knowledge of finite element analysis
Knowledge of Airbus specific tools and already proven DOA delegation is considered as a plus
Motivation to contribute to a positive team spirit and overall team performance
Ability to communicate effectively on various levels of hierarchy (peers, stakeholder, early careers)
English on negotiation level, German is considered a plus
