We’re now launching in Japan, and we’re seeking a Senior Technical Consultant to be one of the founding members of our Japan team—a startup within a startup.
As a Technical Consultant, you’ll act as the technical face of our solutions, helping prospects, customers, and partners leverage our platform to transform their internal communication strategies. You'll collaborate closely with internal teams like Product, Engineering, Security, Design, Customer Success, and our Partner Network to ensure seamless technical implementations, enablement, and sales success.
This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in our expansion into Japan, with the support of a global organization and the resources of a billion-dollar company.
What You'll Be Doing
- Partner with Sales to deliver engaging, localized product demos that excite prospective customers in Japan
- Consult with prospects to identify optimal technical solutions for their internal communication needs, removing technical obstacles to success
- Lead technical evaluations of the platform, advising on integration methods and system architecture
- Craft RFP responses that position the platform as the perfect solution for Japanese customers
- Act as the technical lead from kickoff through to launch, ensuring a smooth onboarding process
- Oversee and support technical implementation tasks, collaborating with the Customer Success and Project Management teams
- Advise customers on API integrations, architecture best practices, and security compliance, tailoring recommendations to the Japanese market
- Support partner sales teams by providing technical expertise during the sales process
- Enable partner teams through technical training, onboarding programs, and ongoing support
- Consult and work hand in hand on partner-driven implementation projects to ensure successful integrations and alignment with best practices
- Collaborate with global Partner Network teams to refine and localize enablement materials for the Japanese market
- Act as the go-to technical contact for partners, assisting them in navigating the platform and integrations
What You'll Need To Be Successful
- Entrepreneurial Spirit: You’re motivated by the chance to build something from the ground up in Japan. You thrive in fast-growing, dynamic environments and aren’t afraid to take initiative
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience in a technical consulting or pre-sales role
- 3–8 years of experience in SaaS pre-sales, solutions engineering, technical consulting, or partner enablement
- A strong understanding of cloud technologies and the ability to articulate the benefits of SaaS versus on-premise solutions
- Knowledge of REST APIs, web development fundamentals (HTML/CSS), and at least one programming language (e.g., JavaScript, Node.js, or PHP)
- Familiarity with enterprise software such as SAP, Workday, Single Sign-On (SSO), and Active Directory is a plus
- Ability to adapt global solutions to meet the technical, cultural, and compliance needs of Japanese customers and partners
- Fluent in Japanese (verbal and written) with excellent English communication skills to collaborate with global teams
- You excel at simplifying complex technical concepts and delivering them to technical and non-technical stakeholders with a strategic and customer-first attitude
- Comfortable working in command-line tools, analyzing application logs, and troubleshooting technical integrations
