For REWE digital Spain, a subsidiary of REWE Group, located in the Technological Park of Andalusia (PTA) in Malaga we are looking for a Software Developer . They will join the Product Layout Management team and will support us in the creation of the Store Layouting business area. Store Layouting comprises the overall concept and division/sizing of the sales areas or sections within a store including the design and placement of merchandise on the shelves, as well as the presentation and arrangement of items (groups).

Working closely with the team in Cologne, you will be responsible for the administration and optimisation of our backup and recovery systems to ensure data security and reliable access for our business applications. We are looking for an IT Engineer to support the enhancement of our data protection landscape by developing, implementing, and maintaining robust backup and recovery solutions for diverse components, including databases (DB2, Oracle, Postgres), SAP HANA systems, AIX, Windows, and virtual machines.

What you will do:

• Backup & Recovery Administration: Implement, manage, and maintain backup and recovery solutions, ensuring data integrity and efficient restoration processes across systems.
• Strategic Development: Work proactively on developing and optimizing backup and recovery strategies to ensure long-term data integrity and system availability.
• Shell Scripting or Ansible: Use shell scripting or Ansible to automate routine backup and recovery tasks, enhancing operational efficiency and minimizing errors.
• Google Cloud Technologies: Utilize Google Cloud Platform solutions to implement and manage cloud-based backup and recovery operations.
• Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to architectural guidelines and compliance standards, as well as quality assurance and documentation of reusable components.
• On-call duty

Key Skills

• Backup & Recovery General interest in backup and recovery procedures and the ability to familiarise yourself quickly and easily with the standard backup management systems on the market.
• Automation: Experience in automating processes to enhance operational efficiency and ensure data consistency and integrity.
• Unix Derivatives, Windows: Extensive expertise in Unix systems, particularly in AIX and Linux, with strong capabilities in system configuration, troubleshooting, and automating administrative and data protection tasks. Additionally, competent in managing Windows environments, with a focus on system configuration, backup, and troubleshooting.
• REST / API: Experience in utilizing APIs for backup system integration, facilitating streamlined data exchange and automation.
• GITLAB: skills in using GitLab for version control in backup scripts and collaborative development, with capabilities to automate integration and enhance workflow efficiency.

What you will bring:

• Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Excellent problem-solving skills and eager to learn and explore new skills
• Knowledge of general concepts of Automation and APIs
• Complete fluency in written and spoken English
• You live in Spain, and you have a valid work permit/VISA (without sponsorship)

Nice to have:

• Experience in BMC Control-M or another Scheduler
• Experience with Ansible
• Experience with Backup Tools (ISP, Rubrik, Veem, Commvault)
