Job Description
As a Data Scientist (all genders), you have two key tasks. First, you develop innovative data-based products and quantitative analytical solutions for our customers.
You will also implement these solutions together with our engineering team (data scientists, data engineers, data architects, and software architects). Second, you will support the business world of our strategy consultants and data analytics consultants on projects that have a quantitative, data-driven focus.
You'll help them recognize and create the added value of data and data analytics. You'll work closely with our project teams and client teams and have the opportunity to take responsibility for your own workstream—including clearly defined accountability for results.
You will work with state-of-the-art quantitative methods and modeling techniques and utilize mathematical optimization models.
Your approach is always goal- and customer-oriented, as well as objective and scientific.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in data science or a related field (e.g. STEM, mathematics, quantitative economics) or doctorate with a quantitative/empirical focus.
- Relevant experience in data science/machine learning
- Experience in developing and applying complex optimization models – linear, integer, nonlinear or heuristic
- Strategic and entrepreneurial thinking, team orientation
- Advanced practical and methodological knowledge of econometrics/statistics (machine learning or nonparametric statistics). Knowledge of causal inference is advantageous.
- Proficient in Python or R. Additional programming languages are a plus (e.g. C/C++, GAMS, Stata, MATLAB).
- Very good communication skills in German and English (spoken and written)
