Job Description:
In order to manage current and future projects, Airbus Helicopters is looking for you to join the team in Donauwörth as soon as possible as our new
System Engineer (d/f/m) in Self Protection System
This role is also available with reduced weekly hours (30) and an adapted scope of tasks.
The need for military helicopters is increasing in the current geopolitical context. Military customers are demanding more and more performance from the active self-protection system. On the other hand, technologies are evolving fast with the introduction of the artificial intelligence. Mastering the Electronic Warfare System is key for the military business.
In this context, your mission will be to manage the development and the integration of new and complex Electronic Warfare Systems (EWS) into militarized helicopters to ensure the protection of the aircraft and the crew.
Your location
At our Donauwörth site, located on the banks of the river Danube, we develop helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product. Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield.

Your tasks and responsibilities
Contribute to the writing of requirement specifications and review technical supplier proposals in collaboration with the Design Office and the procurement department
Review supplier documentation to prepare and conduct development reviews (design reviews and qualification review)
Review and check technical interfaces with other systems while managing compatibility between helicopter emitters (e.g., EMI) and EWS sensors
Review integration constraints with the integration team and contribute to the overall helicopter system reviews and assessments
Define the test requirements on the System Integration Rigs and on the helicopters
Support the test team during bench and flight tests
Contribute to the writing of the documentation for certification or qualification
Desired skills and qualifications
Completed university degree in engineering or comparable
Proven experience in Systems Engineering, ideally with a focus on Electronic Warfare Systems (EWS)
Solid experience in supplier management and technical vendor coordination.
Strong organizational skills combined with the ability to work effectively in a team and excellent communication skills
A proactive mindset with a strong willingness to learn and grow within the role
Language Skills: English - negotiation level, knowledge of German or French is an advantage
Willingness to undertake occasional international business travel
