Radiation Protection Engineer (f/m/d)

The Institute for Ion Beam Physics and Materials Research is dedicated to the study of materials and their nanostructures that can be considered for future applications in information technology and are based on electrical, magnetic or optical functionalities.
The Ion Beam Center is looking for an Radiation Protection Engineer (f/m/d).
Your tasks
- Support of the Radiation Protection Officers in ensuring operational radiation protection
- Support of the Radiation Protection Officers in the preparation and updating of licensing and authorization documents
- Measurement-related support of new work activities and experimental facilities
- Participation in the operation and maintenance of radiation protection measurement instrumentation
Your profile
- Completed university studies (Bachelor/Master/Diploma) in the field of Natural sciences or engineering or related field or comparable technical training with relevant professional experience
- Relevant professional experience in the specified area
- Comprehensive and thorough knowledge of German radiation protection legislation and related subordinate regulations
- Experience in the use of radiation protection measurement instrumentation and in performing basic radiation protection calculations
- Certification in radiation protection is an advantage
- Flexible approach to challenges and strong communication skills
- Independent and conscientious working style
- Basic knowledge of classic Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with radiation transport programs is an advantage
- Fluent German language skills are required
- Good command of written and spoken English
