ESMC Strategic Construction/Facility Buyer

In this role you will drive the success of our flagship semiconductor Fab in construction and continued development in Dresden in a truely dynamic start-up environment. You will lead sourcing and negotiation strategies for complex, high-value construction packages - ensuring quality, timeline, risk management and cost-efficiency from the ground up. 1. Develop procurement strategies for construction materials, equipment, and services, supporting both initial factory construction and ongoing facility operations.

2. Optimize supplier relationships by identifying, evaluating, and maintaining partnerships that ensure quality, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery.

3. Lead contract negotiations to establish collaborative, sustainable, and cost-effective agreements with key suppliers.

4. Manage procurement risks and budget by assessing potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies to support cost control and project continuity.

5. Perform market analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in the construction and facility supply markets.

6. Ensure compliance with procurement policies, legal regulations, and company standards.

7. Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, construction, and facilities management teams to align procurement activities with project and operational needs.

1. Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field.

2. Minimum 5 years of experience in strategic procurement, preferably in construction or large capital projects.

3. Strong negotiation and contract management skills.

4. Proven experience managing supplier relationships and performance as well as excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills across technical and operational teams with a data-driven and concise style.

5. Proven ability to manage budgets and procurement-related risks in dynamic project environments.

6. Experience conducting market and supplier analysis to support sourcing decisions.

7. Fluency in both German and English; additional languages are a plus.

8. Open-minded, culturally curious, and able to work effectively with colleagues and suppliers from diverse backgrounds.

9. Proficiency in procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Coupa) and standard MS Office tools.
