Are you ready to play a crucial role in shaping trivago’s financial future? Our FP&A team is at the heart of transforming company strategy into actionable financial plans and insights. As a Financial Planning Analyst, you’ll be part of a dynamic team that ensures the accuracy of our financials and empowers management with data-driven decision-making capabilities. We’re looking for an analytical mind who’s passionate about financial modelling and process improvement to help drive our continued success. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Driving Collaborative Expense Forecasting: Partner with key stakeholders across the company to lead our expense forecast process, acting as a crucial liaison between finance and other departments to foster seamless collaboration
- Enhancing Financial Accuracy: Conduct in-depth flux analysis of Balance Sheet and P&L accounts, along with a meticulous review of expenses during the closing process, to ensure precision and reliability in our financial statements
- Contributing to Reporting Excellence: Actively support both internal and external reporting processes, including earnings releases for our NASDAQ-listed company by providing insightful analysis and drafting Management’s Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) comments for our operating expenses
- Revolutionizing Reporting through Automation: Spearhead the optimization of trivago’s reporting landscape by automating processes and enhancing efficiency, ensuring our reporting capabilities are cutting-edge
- Embarking on Exciting Projects: Participate in the introduction of a new online forecasting tool that will revolutionize our expense planning, providing you with the opportunity to be at the forefront of innovative financial solutions
- Supporting Strategic Decision-Making: Empower management with precise reporting, thorough analysis, and impactful financial models to drive informed decision-making
What you’ll need to thrive:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or related field
- Professional Experience: 5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis or in an accounting position
- Financial Acumen: In-depth understanding of accounting principles
- Detail-Oriented Mindset: A meticulous approach to financial analysis and reporting, ensuring precision and thoroughness in all deliverables
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in financial reporting systems and software, with a capability to leverage technology for automation and process optimization. Adaptable to new technologies and systems swiftly
- Collaborative Communication: Excellent communication in English (our company language) and outstanding and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with key stakeholders across various departments, facilitating collaboration and acting as a bridge between finance and other functions
