Join our Energy Asset Strategy team in Dusseldorf or Birmingham and help shape the future of Uniper's asset landscape. The role additionally encompasses interim leadership of Energy Asset Strategy & Valuation, providing you with the opportunity to drive key strategic decisions during an important transitional phase.

Your responsibilities
- lead the L3 area Asset Improvement, Sustainability & Decarbonization Strategy
- lead and develop a high-performing, highly capable team, fostering a culture of trust and excellence to:
- drive technical Innovation and scan technical and regulatory developments to identify and prioritize decarbonization and value-add options (e.g., LTE, technical parameter changes, plant modifications)
- build and deliver a high-performing project pipeline (approx. 50 projects/year) to enhance asset performance and achieve industry-leading cost levels
- develop and drive initiatives through internal and external decision gates (SDs, FDs, engineering studies, permitting)
- develop and maintain/continiously update an optimal, deployable decarbonization plan for all (not yet decarbonized) energy assets
- ensure effective interfaces with various internal stakeholders (Fleets, Sites, EA Services, Corporate Strategy, HSSE, etc.)
- ensure efficient performance management and continuous improvement processes in the AISDS area
- contribute to maintain/create a high performing EASt Leadership team
Interim:
- lead the L3 area Asset Strategy & Valuation
- lead and develop a high-performing, highly capable team, fostering a culture of trust and excellence to:
- develop and implement optimal asset strategies to maximize commercial value and strong cashflows along the assets value chains to achieve top performance in energy industry
- create option spaces and manage complexity to prioritize value improvements
- manage complex alignment- and decision-making processes and provide extraordinary well structured and actionable decision base and recommendations to higher Management and further stakeholders
- work closely with commercial teams and other stakeholders to develop and drive initiatives through internal and external decision gates/processes (e.g. SDs, FDs, capacity markets participations)
- ensure effective interfaces with various internal stakeholders (APM, PSO, Sales, Market Risk, Corporate Strategy, etc.)
- ensure efficient performance management and continuous improvement processes in the ASV area
- contribute to maintain/create a high performing EASt Leadership team
Your profile
- excellent university degree in economics, engineering or natural science
- safety role model: lead by example, prioritize the highest standards of safety for people, the environment and operations
- inspirational leadership: bring passion for guiding teams, and embrace and role-model Uniper's values
- strong project management and contract negotiation skills
- knowledge of decarbonization technologies and asset strategies
- deep understanding of economics/finance and economic-IT basics
- basic understanding of mathematical real options evaluation (Black-Scholes, Monte Carlo, optimizer tools) and major energy regulatory requirements
- strong ability to understand complex technical-commercial relationships and translate analysis into logical structure and fact based, actionable proposals
- proven leadership experience in the energy sector and track record in change management
- high level of self-leadership, openness to change, and commitment to DEI
- think differently: track record of initiated changes/new ways of working
- imagination and interest in life long learning
