Job Description

Senior DevOps Engineer Customer Data Hub (m/f/d)
Job ID:277720

At Vodafone, we work every day for a better future—a world that is more connected, inclusive, and sustainable. For us, technology is only as strong as the people who use it. Join us and let’s shape the world of tomorrow together.

The agile Release Train of the Customer Data Hub is responsible for the development and operation of platforms that provide converged customer data in real time across all IT stacks. Our team relies on innovative technologies such as K2View Fabric, Kafka and cloudnative architectures on AWS, supporting millions of API calls and event triggers per month that enable digital interactions for millions of customers.

As a Senior DevOps Engineer Customer Data Hub, you take endtoend responsibility for the operation and deployment of our businesscritical platforms, actively shape their technological direction and make a direct contribution to Vodafone’s digital transformation and business success. You will work in a modern, dynamic, international DevSecOps environment and continuously develop your expertise.

What you can expect:

  • You develop and own the strategy for operating, deploying, initial loading and automating the Customer Data Hub platform in close collaboration with business, architecture and management.
  • You ensure the endtoend availability, scalability and security of the system and are responsible for sustainable operating models.
  • You coordinate and drive the independent, targeted resolution of highly complex incidents and troubleshooting on the K2View platform in collaboration with internal development teams, external vendors and shared service centers (TSSC), and identify improvement potential to prevent recurrence.
  • You evaluate new technologies and architectures within your scope (e.g. monitoring solutions, K2View applications, AWS) and make wellfounded decisions on their adoption.
  • You ensure compliance with defined security policies for the applications, systems and platforms you are responsible for, including access analysis and corrective actions.
  • You coach colleagues and external partners, and shape standards, best practices and operational processes within a DevSecOps environment.

What Sets You Apart:

  • A completed degree in engineering, computer science, business engineering or a comparable qualification.
  • At least 8 years of experience operating complex system landscapes, ideally with a focus on K2View and Kafka platforms on AWS.
  • Strong handson expertise in DevOps and automation tools (Jenkins / GitHub Actions, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform).
  • Solid experience with ITIL processes as well as monitoring and analytics tools (Grafana, Dynatrace, Datadog).
  • Outstanding problemsolving skills and proven experience in the strategic evolution of incident, problem and change management in productive K2View Fabric environments.
  • Deep process and IT knowhow in the telecommunications domain.
  • Strong strategic and entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to assess technical decisions in a business context.
  • High consulting competence and confidence in communicating with management, business stakeholders and external partners in international, agile teams.
  • Resilience and willingness to take responsibility, even in critical situations.
  • Experience in functional leadership, coaching and steering international teams and suppliers.
  • Fluent English skills, both written and spoken (C1 level).

This position can be carried out on a full-time basis or in near full-time part-time (minimum 30 hours per week).

Your strengths and experience matter to us. Diversity and equal opportunities are important to us. We welcome applications from people with disabilities and give them special consideration in the case of equal suitability.

We are filling this position at the Düsseldorf location for Vodafone GmbH.

What we offer you:

  • Flexibility: In coordination with your team and manager, you decide which days you work in the office and from home. You can also work up to 20 days per year from other EU countries as well as from an increasing number of non-EU countries.
  • Attractive compensation and pension plan: As a collective-agreement employee, depending on the remuneration model, you receive holiday and Christmas bonuses or a 13th monthly salary. Our pension plan also provides you with an occupational retirement scheme.
  • Further development: You decide which of our learning and training programs best support your individual development.
  • Work-life balance: Whether childcare, health and mindfulness programs, or fitness studios – you can flexibly shape your professional and private life. We support you, including when caring for relatives.
  • Discounts and additional benefits: As an employee, you receive special offers on all our mobile, fixed-line, internet, and TV products.

Who we are:
Vodafone celebrates and promotes diversity and inclusion. We are as diverse as our customers and society. Regardless of ethnic origin, skin color, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, religion, political affiliation, union membership, nationality, health status, social background, or cultural background – there is no place for discrimination at Vodafone.

Together we can.
