What you will do:
The Transaction Risk Senior Manager is responsible for the effective identification, assessment, ongoing management, monitoring and mitigation of existing transaction risk for Commercial clients. The role is responsible for managing the overall risk within the Receivable Finance (RF) portfolio in Germany, including but not limited to credit, operational, collateral, fraud and trade credit insurance claims.
In this role you will
- Monitor portfolio trends including sectors, positions of concern, delinquent positions and non-recourse structures, ensuring alignment within risk appetite and taking appropriate action to mitigate loss including reviewing information at individual seller and portfolio level to identify anomalies and trends;
- Manage the analysis, interpretation and management of buyer credit risk. Develop strategies to minimise losses while taking into account wider seller relationship profitability, where appropriate
- Manage the undertaking and reporting via surveys on the suitability of sellers for RF lines. This includes conduct of surveys and supervision of survey activites in other countries/by outsourced partners
- Review the seller’s ability to comply with undertaking and reporting requirements, ensuring that risk identified as a result of survey work is mitigated and in collaboration with the deal team appropriate structure and subsequent risk mitigation is implemented;
- Ensure collateral remain within agreed operational guidelines, risk mitigants and controls;
- Manage underwriting of new credit opportunities and renewals including submission of appropriate recommendation to Wholesale Credit Risk;
- Produce portfolio risk reportings, participate in the preparation of the decks for risk meetings;
- Supporting and embedding change initiatives, identifying and developing new or improved delivery mechanisms
- Communicate and adhere to HSBC policy and procedures in order to ensure good operational, financial and project management, as well as early identification and effective resolution or escalation of issues that arise, taking required action in relation to points raised by audit and/or external regulators;
- Participate in various cross functional projects of the Bank in line with TRM risk monitoring function;
- Develop and recommend changes and improvements to operating models, procedures and practices based on subject matter expertise and understanding of HSBC and market best practice;
You should apply if you have
- Receivables Finance or Trade Finance experience
- Relationship Management and/or Risk experience
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Understanding of the regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements
- Ability to understand and interpret financial information/analysis
- Basic understanding of Germany/Europe Insolvency Law
- Fluent in both spoken and written German and English languages
