What you will do:

As Team Lead Corporate Communication (m/f/d) you are heading the communications team and ensuring that the German communication strategy is aligned with business plans and global communication priorities. You will collaborate closely with functional peers and business stakeholders, with role holder seeking stakeholder input and awareness. You will maintain knowledge of stakeholder requirements, competitor activities and market trends to shape future communications. Important is to understand the issues in German banking and the activities managed by the German management team.

In this role you will

  • Manage and strategic develop HSBC Germany’s corporate communications, including agenda setting, storytelling and monitoring – in alignment with the strategic positioning of HSBC Group and HBCE.
  • Plan and implement integrated communication campaigns in conventional and social media
  • Manage external communications for all HSBC business operating in Germany
  • Represent the company in public and in the media including media interviews, press releases and other PR initiatives, operate with a high degree of autonomy
  • Ongoing identification and communicative implementation of topics and occasions to strengthen the company’s reputation, focusing both on internal and external stakeholders in Germany including the Germany Country Head and leadership team
  • Continual assess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, accounting for changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices and the impact of new technology

You should apply if you have

  • Working knowledge of Germany and German media, ideally with an existing network of journalist contacts as well as experience in financial services communications, ideally in banking or financial services in Germany
  • Good media relations skills, experience in both proactive PR and issues management a distinct plus
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills with proven ability to produce clear, engaging narrative
  • Being able to motivate and excite team members and colleagues, being able to appoint them according to their skills
  • Good interpersonal, planning, influencing, negotiation and project management skills as well as a high degree of flexibility, commitment and resilience
  • Full written and spoken fluency in German and English
