As a Data Scientist, you will take a lead role in designing and delivering advanced Generative AI solutions on cloud platforms, with a special emphasis on business analytics to drive strategic decisions and operational efficiency in Compression, an Independently Managed Business within the Transformation of Industry Business Area at Siemens Energy.In this position, you’ll develop robust data pipelines and analytical models that unlock insights from complex data sets. Your work will support critical business functions and enabling data-driven decision making throughout the organization. By creating intuitive analytics dashboards, building predictive models, and integrating machine learning into business intelligence tools, you will empower collaborators to visualize trends, forecast outcomes, and optimize processes.

How You’ll Make an Impact 

• Generative AI Application Development: Collaborate with developers and partners in Agile teams to integrate LLMs and classical AI techniques into end-user applications, focusing on user experience and real-time performance.
• LLM Integration Fine-Tuning and Customization: Fine-tune and integrate pre-trained LLMs based on external and internal databases to specific business needs using prompt engineering, transfer learning, and few-shot techniques.
• Data Backbone Hygiene: Collect, clean, and preprocess large datasets to ensure high-quality input for AI models, while improving data availability, quality, lineage, and categorization to support robust AI and analytics capabilities.
• Collaboration: Work with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to integrate AI solutions into products and services.
• Business Data Analytics: Apply AI techniques to analyze data from sales, operations, and finance for business development purposes. Evaluate and validate model performance using clear metrics, maintain thorough documentation for models, algorithms, and workflows, and effectively communicate results and insights to collaborators.
• Process Digitalization & Automation: Lead efforts to automate and digitize business processes with AI, helping develop service tables and supporting the deployment of AI solutions across the organization.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in tool development with AI-based applications and hands-on experience with Python and machine learning frameworks like PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
• Experience with hosted ML models, Experiments and deployment as well as Model decay as well as ability to integrate LLM and statistical ML models into interfaces using FAST APIs.
• Proficiency with deep learning frameworks such as Keras or TensorFlow.
• Expertise in handling structured and unstructured data, including data cleaning and feature engineering with vector, relational, NoSQL databases, and data lakes via APIs.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git version control, and VSCode IDE.
