Your role and responsibilities
Your Job: Processor Physical Design Engineer

We’re hiring Development Engineers (m/f/x) to join our Processor Physical Design Team that is responsible for designing and implementing the world’s fastest and most powerful server processors.

As part of this team, you'll work on a wide range of tasks in physical design, including:

  • Floorplanning, synthesis and integration of individual processor units and the entire chip
  • Optimization of design parameters such as speed, area and power consumption
  • Use of state-of-the-art methods for design, implementation and optimization
  • Development and continuous optimization of existing tools, workflows and processes
  • Close collaboration with other teams such as logic design, library and IP design or EDA

Required technical and professional expertise

We’re looking for candidates with a strong technical foundation and a collaborative mindset. Ideally, you have:

  • Completed university degree (Bachelor, Master or PhD) in electrical engineering, computer engineering, materials science, physics or similar disciplines
  • Knowledge of the circuit design fundamentals (digital or analog)
  • Knowledge of the physical design flow with standard cells (ASICs or processors)
  • Experience with CAD tools for the physical design flow (e.g. Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor Graphics etc.) is an advantage
  • Knowledge of a programming or scripting language (e.g. Python)
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g. GitHub, Jenkins) is an advantage
  • Interest in design tools and design automation is an advantage
  • Strong team player and open minded to work in an international team
  • Strong communication skills in English and preferably in German
