Every day, around 3,000 employees of RUAG and RUAG Real Estate make as significant contribution to the security of Switzerland. They ensure that the Swiss Armed Forces and other emergency and security organizations can comprehensibly carry out their tasks at all times.
You can move it
- Contribute to the finalization of ACAS-Xr and ACAS-Xu implementations within RUAG's simulation environment, with the possibility to explore ACAS-sXu
- Translate reference implementations provided in Julia into deployable C or C++ code, creating a robust, testable, and safety-aligned software foundation
- Support RUAG's DAA system and collaborations with leading aviation partners, laying the groundwork for future certification and operational use
- Gain exposure to the aviation industry and learn how airborne systems are applied in practice while expanding your professional network
- Shape your own project, make meaningful decisions, and collaborate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and expertise
- Work in a culture that values open discussion, personal initiative, and innovation in safety-critical applications
What you should bring with you
- Experience in Python and C/C++, knowledge of Julia is a plus
- Basic knowledge of Git or similar version control systems
- Familiarity with collision avoidance systems is a plus; prior knowledge of the ACAS-X standards is not required
- Creative and solution-oriented mindset with a passion for innovation
- High technical aptitude and strong willingness to learn, especially in modeling and simulation, system theory and algorithms, control engineering, and system architecture
- Ability to collaborate effectively with the project team
- Excellent analytical and planning skills, combined with a high level of responsibility and perseverance
- Good command of English; knowledge of German is an asset

About the field of activity
RUAG AG is at the forefront of advanced Detect and Avoid (DAA) systems, ensuring safe operations in Swiss and European airspace. Building on the successful integration of ACAS-Xa into our simulation framework, we are now advancing to the next generation of airborne collision avoidance systems with ACAS-Xr and ACAS-Xu.
