Job Description
Your tasks
As a Data Scientist at AIPERIA, you'll develop the AI models that ensure bakeries and food retailers only produce what's actually sold. You'll work with real sales, weather, event, and other data, build robust forecasting models, and ensure our recommendations are scalable, stable, and demonstrably value-adding in practice. Together with us, you'll reduce food waste and improve profitability in the retail sector.
Your tasks
- Development & further development of ML models:You design, implement and improve forecasting models for inventory optimization in bakeries and the food trade.
- Feature Engineering:You develop new features (e.g., based on weather, event, or product range data) and test their impact on forecast quality.
- Retraining, Monitoring & MLOps:You plan and conduct regular retrainings and establish monitoring to detect data and model drift early.
- Data Pipelines & Production Readiness:You plan, implement and maintain logic in our data pipelines and ensure that our prediction models are stable and performant in production.
- Ad-hoc analyses & customer insights:You conduct exploratory analyses for existing and new customers (e.g. returns analysis, assortment performance, scenario calculations) and prepare the results in an understandable way.
- Code quality & best practices:You actively participate in code reviews, establish clean code and testing standards, and help to continuously professionalize our ML and analytics landscape.
- Collaboration with the Product & App Team:You will work closely with various stakeholders, especially our Product, App and Customer Success teams, to provide order suggestions, KPIs and insights in a way that makes them as useful as possible in the everyday lives of customers and internally.
Your profile
- Completed studiesin Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Informatics or a comparable quantitative field.
- 2-4 years of professional experienceas a Data Scientist with a focus on Machine Learning / Advanced Analytics
- Excellent Python skillsincluding experience with common data science libraries (e.g., Pytorch, scikit-learn, pandas, polars).
- Experience in handlinglarge datasets, including solid knowledge ofSQLand data modeling (e.g., for reporting, feature stores, or pipelines).
- Solid knowledge ofstatistical methodsand common ML approaches (e.g., regression models, gradient boosting, time-series models)
- You workpragmatically and in a solution-oriented manner, can explain complex issues in an understandable way, and enjoy translating your results into decisions.
- Excellentwritten and spoken English skills; German skills are a plus.
